Seeking Director of Product Management - Portland, OR
Summary:
The Director of Product Management is a critical player in the Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions organization driving functional product level strategy and execution across the business. Monsoon Commerce is looking for a top-notch individual to lead our product management team and own the product development map for all Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions products.
The Director of Product Management is responsible for gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining each release and working closely with development to deliver remarkable products. Moreover, this role serves as a liaison between sales, marketing, support and the executive team, as well as customers, technology leads, and third-party partners, ensuring our products support our customers’ needs, compete effectively with other solutions in the market, and are aligned with our company’s product roadmap. Finally, the Director is responsible for leading, mentoring and growing our team of product managers as well as overseeing the growth and evolvement of our product management processes.
We are looking for a passionate, innovative individual with a strong background in product management of ecommerce solutions that loves to collaborate with others to solve problems. An agile ability to work in a rapidly changing ecommerce world, a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality are all critical to success in this position.
The Director of Product Management is expected to:
- Maintain and manage the overall Product Management process at Monsoon Commerce
- Gather, document and analyze feedback from sales, marketing, development and customers about major functions and minor enhancements
- Lead our internal process for defining product strategy, roadmap and priorities
- Lead our product management team in developing business requirements and use cases for new features for all Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions products
- Monitor the status of development projects supporting new features
- Lead the product management team in acting as the user representative and subject matter expert throughout the entire delivery lifecycle (Design, Build, Document, Test, and Support)
- Lead Beta release process and manage early adopters on beta product platforms
- Work closely with customer support to resolve issues and maximize user satisfaction
- Incorporate feedback from users, business decision makers and technical leads to ensure Monsoon products meet the needs of our customers
- Communicate with all areas of the company and lead your team as internal experts and external evangelists for our product offerings
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of product management or related experience
- Strong knowledge of agile development processes, such as Extreme Programming
- Enthusiasm for talking to customers and prospects, with the ability to build strong relationships with them
- Excellent problem solving skills; the ability to understand how technology can solve a user problem
- Skilled in the fine arts of liaison and able to work with different people on cross-functional teams in a highly effective way
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and listen and learn from stakeholders including customers, vendors and other employees
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Strong grasp of user-experience design
- Proven project-management skills
- This position requires travel to user and non-user sites in North America and Europe (10%)
- BS or BA degree
