Michael Powell is the founder and CEO of Powell's Books, the largest independent bookstore in the country. Powell's also operates one of the earliest and most successful online bookstores, Powells.com, and is one of the largest marketplace sellers. Michael is actively involved in the business and social community in Portland, Oregon and has held Board positions in several private and public organizations, including Creative Multimedia Corporation, Sapient Health Network, Cenquest, the American Booksellers Association, the Port of Portland, and the Portland Public Schools Foundation.
