Often sellers have spent years developing inventory and order management systems to serve other channels. The process of integrating Monsoon is usually much easier than you think.

How it works

Data Exchange: Monsoon is built with an inventory and order file exchange system called Data Exchange. This data management feature can be used to import and export updated inventory and order data into Monsoon every few minutes.

The benefits of Data Exchange are:

  • Keep quantity on hand counts synched across all your sales channels
  • Decrement listings for items that have sold through non-marketplace channels and are no longer available
  • Download orders within minutes and process them with your existing order processing system
  • Add new channels like your own eCommerce website

Shipping API: Monsoon Pro has a shipping API that can be used to integrate with most shipping systems, including your existing system. In addition to custom integrations, this shipping API comes out-of-the-box ready to support the following shipping software:

  • Fed Ex Ship Manager
  • UPS Worldship
  • Endicia (USPS)
  • IBS
  • Clippership

Monsoon Adapters: Included with your Monsoon Pro start up package is basic support creating a Monsoon Adapter. An adapter is a desktop software application that translates your internal inventory and order data into a format that can be read by Monsoon’s data exchange. Typically, an adapter takes about 1-2 weeks to build and test. This service is included with your Monsoon Pro license.

Monsoon Custom Adapters: Some sellers prefer to develop sophisticated Monsoon adapters that perform additional duties like selecting items for listing or adding surcharges to cover market fees and shipping costs. Monsoon’s on-boarding team stands ready to assist you in developing custom adapters, a service that is available for an additional fee.
